The sites I'm trying to test all use HTTPS.

I never looked at the SOCKS branch.

Hi. Sorry for the late reply.

HTTPS can be piped only using SOCKS-proxy. I implemented first draft version of the proxy, but don't have enough time to test it across different OS/browsers.
