Can't enter the fake nether through glitched obsidian portal

Bug Description

Game continues to produce the portal distortion visual effect when I entered an activated glitched obsidian portal, but nothing happens. I simply can't enter the fake nether. I've tried different chunks, portal shapes even gamemodes, but the issue remains.

Did this behavior use to work in the previous version?

I don't have a previous version.

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

1. build a glitched obsidian portal (4*6 minimum size)
2. ignite it with fire rune, enter
3. nothing happens
