Can't acess the nether #121

we're playing on a lan server and one of my friends died and his tombstone was there, he couldn't get into the nether and I was there, when I got out of the nether I couldn't get into the nether anymore.

Can't really make heads or tails of this, please help.

also while we're here, is there a way to remove achieved advancements?
