Lots of updates here. More to do.

SUGGESTED FEATURE REMOVAL

• Center horizontal menu. This is a headache with coding navigation and other screen elements like now playing. Does any one really use this?
• Remove top250 and oscars. I can see a lot of work when into the oscars playlist. This is something that i cant imagine a lot of people would use and would need to be updated yearly.

Looking for comments on the overall look of this screen. Trying to get the default look before adding any options.

The settings for the home screen have been removed from skin settings. I am hoping to treat this like any other view. Check out the side menu and the all new vertical menu.

Not complete and there are a few issue atm.

EDIT: Make sure you reset you the menu so all the default backgrounds and icons work

@mistervee, @MadMikeDoc , @meowmoo , I really don't mind doing away with the option for center horizontal menu.

In terms of Top 250 and Oscars, I was probably one of the first instigators to have this in the skin as default. In fact, I provided the set of playlists for the Oscars, and then schimi added the titles in German for them.

@mistervee, you are correct, both need to be updated regularly, and if they weren't in the skin, I wouldn't mind, as I have all of the playlists and keep them updated for myself. I think perhaps I will open a thread in the Aeon Nox forum where I update the Oscar playlists every year, so people can get them from there.

@mistervee, I really like the new look, congratulations! it certainly shows that a lot of effort and love were invested in getting it to where it is! Thank you!

Likes:

I love the icons, the navigation, the overall look, the way to customize it, and the multiple options in terms of layout. Love the options like any other view. Love the default backgrounds as well.

Not so much:

• Font on the vertical menu seems a bit squished or streteched, does not look the same as when horizontal.
• Navigation for submenus in vertical menu, while functional, seems to need more polish. For me the submenu (and the menu) blades when vertical are too wide, and even though you can change highlight color and such, it is not that apparent what submenu option is chosen. Also, there seems to be a lot of wasted space in the submenu blade.
• While I enjoy the always present submenu when horizontal, I think this should be an option. Again, it is also not readily apparent which submenu option is chosen.

Other notes:

Love the work you are doing on the skin shortcuts main dialog, it is starting to look great!

I know you wanted to get first impressions on the look, so I will hold off on what is not working. Just let me know when you want me to provide you that info.

@bartolomesoriano @meowmoo @MadMikeDoc My thought behind wanting to remove the oscars and top250 from the main menu is to keep a standard menu layout, similar to estuary. The playlist can still be included. • There is a maximum width for the vertical menu that needs to be maintained due to the size of the widgets. The only things i can do is adjust the font or make the menu more narrow.
• Navigation is not finished. Maybe a button in the top left corner for the options menu for the mouse (the same way aeon nox opens the media menu)? The submenu is a tough one. There is a lot of wasted space, but not so sure of what can be done.
• I do plan on adding the option back for the horizontal submenu. What i need to understand is the best layout to present to the end user on a fresh install.

@mistervee , thanks for the work, will pull and check out later after work. I've never used the center layout so wouldn't miss it but don't know if it's in use by users though? But this is a complete re-work so we can lose things if that's what we decide.

Top250 and Oscars I use but probably just because they are there, I've assigned widgets etc. but again I wouldn't cry if we lost them but keeping the playlists would be good. I know Shadowtek recently update the oscar(s) one in the Madnox thread but I never got round to pulling it into the skin, only remembered now.

Looking forward to seeing a vertical menu, tried to do it a couple of times and just got stuck so abandoned it as usual!

@mistervee, you mention the widgets, but I couldn't get any widget to show up in the horizontal menu, is this functional at this time?

I never used Center horizontal menu or Oscars, lets remove it. +1 on barts "not so much" list, but i dont think there is wasted space in the submenu, only the Focus overlay is missing, and i like it if its hidden when you dont need it. If you choose a Color for the TopBar the Submenu/Infolabel get the same, is this how it should work? I would like to set it seperate or use the HomeBar Color. in Madnox there was a "small homebar" option, i think im the only one that use and will miss it.

on the vertical menu, the only thing i would change is the width and maby make the font a bit smaller.
