nothing seems to save

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create new object either test, html source, table, etc.
2. Save and see "object save" confirmation.
3. Item is only displayed under "Currently Selected Object" tab and not "List 
of Available Objects" tab

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Something listed under "List of Available Objects" under the name I chose in 
test, html template, etc. Nothing is listed ever.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v3.6.7.

Please provide any additional information below.
I can view my database tables, but I cannot save them though, once they are 
imported.   My view also doesn't have an RBuilder tab anywhere.  The demos just 
don't work.  The installation did show that everything was installed properly!
