[Enhancement] remove compilation warning with -O2 -Wall

What steps will reproduce the problem?
-Compilation with "-O2 -Wall" flags

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
-The compilation must be done without errors.
-I see a warning on hex_open function in file hex.c line 67. record may be 
uninitialized in this function.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
-V0.3 on Fedora20 - x86_64.
