com port levels #2

Peter says if I plug it in the pi is going to explode the first time a 1 is sent.

Is the comport (12v?) routed to the 3.5 v tx/rx pins on the pi?

I think I wrongly assumed the PC com port header was TTL serial not rs232 serial https://www.sparkfun.com/tutorials/215
