Search: searching for learners across MicroMasters programs #776

Two cases:

  1. A simple way to find how many learners are enrolled across all the MicroMasters programs
  2. A way to find and contact learners based on profile, regardless of program enrollment.

Giovanni, Peter, Gavin and I decided that for V1, we will only allow users to search one program at a time, and we will use radio button selects for the programs, if a user is faculty or staff in multiple programs. We may readdress this is we find that there is a case for a super user who wants to email students from multiple programs at the same time.

Would it make sense to use a drop-down, similar to what we were discussing for the learner dashboard?

Hmm... interesting idea. Yes I think you are right. OK, so users that are faculty or staff in multiple programs, will have to switch contexts the same way that regular learners do. So ignore the mock I posted above... we will just get rid of the radio buttons, and do the same thing as is described in issue #310.

I'm going to close this for now. I can imagine use cases involving marketing, but no one has asked us for these as of yet and it will be tricky to deduplicate the multiple enrollments from the search results.
