@mitsuhiko this PR has been open for almost two years, is anything going to happen here? I'm hesitant to install off Github and prefer official PyPI releases...

FTR for people arriving here: there is https://github.com/YPlan/python-geoip which is the same as this package but is Python2/3 compatible. The changes are really minor, everything works the same. Enjoy!
