Is this expected? I'm wondering where can I find the specifications for this?

4 years ago The issues seems to be solved by qt, because the mentiod request now returns a valid xml again and the issues doesn't happen anymore in my pipelines.

An issue here is happened around MetaLink handling. A download web server which The Qt Corporation supports a MetaLink specification and returns mirror server list in XML form.
From @stefandunca report, web server configuration may be temporary broken.

</metalink>You can find mirror server from here. aqtinstall checks 304 response and redirect to mirror server. We have a black list of mirror server which is located in China, that has strange (mistaken) configuration to ignore GeoIP other than China, (even in China). So aqtinstall checks Metalink XML data and select another mirror site.
