qgvdial *can* make use of your SIP and skype accounts. In fact the reason I
wrote the software was because I didn't want to waste money on voice minutes.
On the dialer page in qgvdial, there is a drop down list of accounts that
qgvdial has identified from the phone as well as the phone numbers it found
associated with your Google Voice account.
The numbers it found from your GV account can be used for "dial back". Select
one of these, make a call and GV will dial back to your number, and to the
person who you were calling.
In that list there are other entries which start with the words "Dial out".
These are the accounts qgvdial found on your phone that it can use in a more
sophisticated way:
When you select one of the Dial outs and make a call, qgvdial will get an
alternate number from the GV servers. It then auto-dials this number using the
phone account selected. This new number is owned by GV, so when GV receives
that call, it redirects it to the person you were calling. This method is more
like the Android/iPhone/BB Google voice app. In fact it is more than the
official app because the official app can only use the phone and not SIP or
skype.
Try out the drop down box, tell me if that solves your problem.

No matter what I choose from DialBack drop down list, when I enter a number
(with +1 or without), the screen changes and it says in yellow "Dialing 201 555
5555" with a green OK button and a red Cancel Button. Regardless, hitting OK
doesn't do anything. After two seconds the regular nokia phone app comes up and
it says "Calling 551-333-9780" which is my own GV number. On here, at the top
left corner of the human sihluette instead of my usual SIP or Skype icons I see
a blue phone icon.
Immediately a male voice from TMobile tells me that I am not subscribed to this
service. In the meantime a message pops up saying "Sending DTMF tones".

Aah, I see. That's the "fallback mode". When the usual dialing method fails,
this one kicks in. It uses the phone number to dial your google voice number
and then tone dials the number you wanted.
I know I need to clear up the UI and settings but for the moment: can you send
me an email with the qgvdial logs at /home/user/.qgvdial/qgvdial.log ?

Also another detail that I noticed today was that, I think bacause my phone got
very slow for some reason, at the very end I saw a message saying "Fallback
attempt failed".

Regarding your comment 3? I use Nokia Anna and can't use the dial out option.
The application goes into the "fallback mode" with T-mobile operator saying,
number can't be dialed. How to enable GV dial out? Thanks.
