As per Zulip chat;

you can create / incorporate preview deck controls into a custom keyboard mapping. unfortunately there's no GUI for this purpose.

We have a stalled, but still valid branch that improves the keyboard integration into Mixxx. https://github.com/mixxxdj/mixxx/pull/1746 I would be happy if one picks it up.
