Kind of depends on #13269 (marker colour coloured text). And helped by #13270.
If the point is to provide awareness, then I have no way of telling what the countdown is counting down to. A differing number of markers might exist before the drop. So I still have to look to the overview (or zoom out). If my drops are a certain colour and the countdown shows as that number, then I will continually have situations where the next marker is maybe 16, or maybe 32, or maybe 64 before the drop. Without multiple countdowns (with coloured text), I can still be left guessing if the marker beyond the next is going to be the drop or not.
