Ooh, this may be fun. I am by no means familiar with vim9 but I can read into it and see what I can do.

I'm a Neovim user. It doesn't support the vim9 version. Converting cp.vim in Lua would be helpful, too.
So you are not interested in vim9 conversion? I am better suited to explain how to convert cp.vim to Lua over vim9script.
