Changes that doesn't require firmware change:

Do away with the rubber feet and use a M3 hex spacer (female-female) inside and use M3 screws to screw in from both sides.

PCB layout can stay the same but all acrylic layers except Layer 1 and layer 5 as well as PCB mounting holes needs to be made wider to accomodate the spacer.

M3 spacer (all threaded 0.5mm pitch) 8mm (should be 8mm-9mm). width 5.5mm (between flat heads) https://www.monotaro.com/g/00428593/?monotaroNo=42267391

slim head flat M3x6 screw https://www.monotaro.com/g/00429329/?monotaroNo=29027268

6mm should work if the spacer is through-hole threaded (some spacers have wall in the middle. in which case, 5mm screw is needed (but 6mm is more available)

expanding the hole is something to consider. PCB should be a larger hole. for Acrylic, we may want to go with hex hole to stop the spacer to rotate inside?

for rubber feet sticker, anything should be fine as long as it is taller than the screw head.
