Before the advent of the profile table, boreholes with multiple measurement profiles were added as multiple boreholes, each with one profile. These should be resolved and correctly represented as a single borehole with multiple profiles. The tricky thing is that it is not always clear whether two rows in borehole with identical latitude and longitude are:
the same borehole,
two boreholes from the same time period with equal estimated coordinates, or
repeat boreholes in which the later borehole approximated the earlier borehole's location (and thus also have equal estimated coordinates).
