The rgi_id does not always match the latitude, longitude of a borehole (see below). I think this is mostly because an rgi_id that felt like a better match was chosen even if the borehole was technically located in another RGI polygon – namely at or near ice divides or summits.
My sense is that it will be easier, more robust, and less confusing to either omit rgi_id or to automate it upon data release. Thoughts?
