Getting only horizontal color lines - Improper display #78

Device rooted (yes/no) :Yes
Device OS version (1.5/1.6/2.0,...) :
2.3.1 CyanogenMod 7
Computer OS and version (Mac,Win,Linux,...) :Win XP & Win 7 32bit
Java version (java -version from command line) :6
ADB version (adb version from command line) :1.0.26
AndroidScreencast version :  Not sure how to find that out.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect phone to PC with usb cable
2. Run Androidscreencast.jnlp
3. The window will show colorfull lines moving across and the action buttons at 
the top and bottom.

having the same type of issue with cyanogen mod 7 running on an htc sensation.
