Power monitor #64

Hi, thank you for the app. Is there a way to dig out the actual power reading and make the energy available in Homey? Thank you

jhholen commented 9 months ago

Have you looked into this @mjilesen?

mjilesen commented 9 months ago

Sorry for the late reply. I have already implemented this last year. If you see it in your Toshiba app, you should also see it in Homey. If you have installed your app a "long" time ago, you need to re-install it.

No worries. What I am looking for is live power monitoring. So that the heat pump will be available under Energy.

But I see that it dosent look like Toshiba has that available in their API?

mjilesen commented 9 months ago

Hi,

No, that is what Homey has created (and is standard functionality). In the setting of the device you have to set the power usage when the device is turned on. I have implemented the numbers the Toshiba app (and are available through their api) is using on the Homey device page where you see the Outside temperature, status, etc. You can use the insights to see the values over time.

This is only available when your device supports Energy consumption (which mine doesn't....).

If you don't see them in Homey but have them in the Toshiba app, please remove the device and install it again. If they still don't pop up, please let me know.

Regards, Monique

The problem is that the energy consumption varies by the temperature inside and outside.

I can see historical power consumption, but that has value to me in Homey.

As you can see, only power consumption last hour or total for today is available.

Hi,

What would you like the see? At the time when I implemented it, that were the wishes. I can implement more...

Perfect!

What I would like to see is power consumption in Watt right now.

Here are examples. One with another termostat and one to show how Energy is missing today. IMG_4621

I was looking into this, but since my device does not support Energy consumption, I need a "test" account to find out how this works (there is not documentation for this API).

Can I get (tempory) access to your Toshiba account? Otherwise it will be very hard for me to implement this.

Please don't share it here, I will give you an e-mail address if you want to share it.

Regards, Monique

Hi, yes I agree. Will set temporary password for you. Let me know.

Thank you. I checked and per hour is the only thing I can give you. The API does not provide any more information. If you look in the app, that is also the only information they provide (per day, per week, per year). Since I'm using the same API, I can't implement your request.

Sorry, Monique
