I can't merge this one because it has conflicts with a separate dark mode PR that's already been merged. I like the simplicity of your solution in not using jQuery and also the way you persist the state. If you'd like to open another PR that applies those to what's already in master, it would be welcome :slightly_smiling_face: . Or if you don't want to that's fine too. Either way, thanks for the PR!
