We have dozens of programmatically generated redirects. Much easier to put this in a separate file rather than clog up mkdocs.yml

Hi thanks for the contribution.

I'm still thinking that the best option is for mkdocs itself to accept arbitrary files. I'll keep thinking about it

What's the status of this PR? I also would prefer redirects in a separate file.

+1 I came across this PR while trying to do exactly this.
