Encoder discontinued / EOL #1

I'm not sure if the author (or anyone) is willing to continue working on this project but when evaluating it to learn and perhaps build it, I noticed that the encoder is now discontinued.

Panasonic stopped making this in 2015 and there doesn't seem to be any compatible parts on the market. This means that the board needs re-designed.

mkeeter, I'm not strong on PCB layouts. If you have any advice on free software or what approach might be good to take, please let me know, if you still care about the bumpy project.

I think bumpy is important because one day, we won't have any mp3 players to run Rockbox on. Hey, maybe we can get a small LCD screen on bumpy someday and run Rockbox? I think the SoC is a bit out of date as well. A better chip that also supports .ogg would be nice.

I'm really new to the maker community. In my spare time, I plan on continuing to develop this project. I have a lot to learn though so if anyone else would mind jumping in for leadership or advice, I would really appreciate it, because it's going to take me some time (on the order of one year) before I can make meaningful contributions.

Let's not let this project die.

Let me also say that Mr. Keeter, you've done a fine job on this project and I'm really happy that you gave this to the community. Cheers!
