Mupen64Plus v2.0 Core API v1.0 documentation wiki not accurate #524

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago

The API documentation located at:

http://mupen64plus.retrouprising.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=Mupen64Plus_v2.0_
Core_API_v1.0

...is horribly inaccurate. Is there any plan to release an updated (even
bare-bones) reference?

I can't even begin to write a front-end.

It turns out that the 1.99.5 src package (mupen64plus-bundle-src-1.99.5.tar.gz)
doesn't contain the "api" sub-directory in "mupen64plus-core" folder. And it
is also missing some key documents (in "doc" subdir), "new_dynarec.txt", and
"module-api-versions.txt".

All of these are otherwise available through the repository. However, it
causes much confusion for the casual downloader. Not everyone is capable of
(or interested in) installing and operating the necessary software.

p.s. would also be nice if the win32deps download was made more accessible as
well.

Thank you.

Your bug report is horribly inaccurate.

I've checked it and the api directory is inside the mupen64plus-core part of
the tarball. The rest seems to be already fixed by Richard in the wiki.

I don't understand the win32deps part. I can just download it as zip/tarball
from the bitbucket site. Don't understand what is the problem here

just a comment: new_dynarec.txt and module-api-versions.txt were added to the
project after the 1.99.5 release. This is why they are not in the 1.99.5-src
archive.

I'm sorry. I re-read this report later, and I don't know what I was thinking.
I think my eyes crossed and stuck there after staring confused, at code for
hours on end.

I think it translated to: "The API documentation is slightly off. Thanks in
advance for fixing it." ;]
