1 year ago Modesta's identity as an artist and performer reinforces the theme of transhumanism. Overall, 'Prototype' can be seen as an excellent example of transhumanist art, prompting us to think about the possibilities of technology and its impact on humanity. But perhaps it would have been more interesting if the journal had presented some analysis and discussion of the posthuman and transhuman, and why Modesta is regarded more in line with the concept of 'transhumanism'.
Having read many blogs on Viktoria's Modesta's video speak about its overarching posthuman themes thus far, it was interesting to see the author present an alternate view/critique of the subject matter. My own blog from the week suggests that any posthumanist work would inevitably be received as transhumanist work too and it was compelling to read a peer elaborate on my views, albeit unknowingly.
