Open benyaminl opened 8 years ago

benyaminl commented 8 years ago

Hello, I'm Using your Extension and It works sometimes and not working sometimes. When I use a Thread Grouping in Thunderbird, It not working, and it delay until maybe a 5 til 10 minutes, I don't know why anyway. But it's annoying. Thanks for reading.

mkiol commented 8 years ago

Thanks for the report. I will look into it, but please be patient because currently I'm quite busy and unfortunately have very little free time :-/

benyaminl commented 8 years ago

Ah No Problem, Anyway maintaining a free software extension that works great need more effort, I'm Appreciate your work anyway, because it's helping me to simplify my life because windows 10 mail is broken, and never fixed, about a year they make that condition like that and that's insane, really.

I know that feels, I'm also a developer. Keep it Up! Cheersssss! For a Good Extension that helps people +1

Hi there,

I also noticed delays with notifications in Windows 10. It happens even if I use the "test" function in extension's options. Sometimes they work as expected, other times they don't... If I keep pushing the "test" button, usually at the second try I get all of the notifications.

If there's something you need to know to investigate the issue, please let me know.

Thanks

MickD commented 8 years ago

I have the same issue. Love the extension but unfortunately I had to disable it because of this.

daed-alus commented 7 years ago

delayed notifications also take place in firefox its not limited to thunderbird

mkiol commented 7 years ago

I can't replicate this issue. Maybe somehow I fixed it while doing recent changes. Could you please try the latest beta 1.9.8-pre5 xpi.

roughnecks commented 7 years ago

I re-enabled GNotifier only yesterday and so far I got no delays. So, I'm talking about 1.9.7, not the beta... maybe it was Windows' fault after all?

daed-alus commented 7 years ago

cant test @ firefox it refuses to install due to missing signing will test and report back @ thunderbird

roughnecks commented 7 years ago

I can say now that issue fixed by itself over the time; I guess Windows broke something about notifications in any of their upgrades and then fixed it.

mkiol commented 7 years ago

That's good news. Thanks for your testing.

daed-alus commented 7 years ago

@ TB its fixed by the new beta 1.9.8-pre5 @ FF with 1.9.7 its still present here

mkiol commented 7 years ago

@daed-alus New release 1.9.8 is now available on AMO. I would be grateful if you could test it with FF as well.

daed-alus commented 7 years ago

i have to apologize messages are still delayed even with 1.9.8 in both TB and FF didnt noticed this immediately @ TB cause the "first" delayed message shows up together as soon as a second arrives the second seems to show up in time same behavior in FF and TB

mkiol commented 7 years ago

@daed-alus Ok, so lets keep issue open. BTW, I still can't replicate this...

roughnecks commented 7 years ago

Sorry to say this but it's happening again to me too.. I just booted up my PC and all notifications have a delay :(

benyaminl commented 7 years ago

The problem is on the windows notification and the firefox or thunderbird systems, so no matter how hard you try to fix, it will b there, forever and ever.

I want to better understand what you said.. so, the source of the problem is inside some Windows component responsible for notifications or inside Firefox/Thunderbird or both?

benyaminl commented 7 years ago

@mkiol Everything started working again on my end... I don't think it's a problem with your app but just some weird bug elsewhere, be it Windows or Mozilla products.
