BB10 feature requests #12

Open klinglerware opened 9 years ago

Hi mkiol!

I am now using the BB10 port of Kaktus (using it with a Z30, but I also tried it with a Z10). I am pleased that you are able to charge for your hard work, it is worth every penny.

Kaktus is a very nice experience on the Blackberry. I do have a couple of feature requests that hopefully are feasible:

  1. Auto-rotate screen, and portrait/landscape orientation toggles
  2. The ability to define an alternate web browser for opening articles

Thanks! klinglerware

Kaktus is my hobby I'm doing in my spare time and I really enjoy it. My intention was never to make money, but I was curious how paid model works. BB Kaktus "pro" version is the experiment :-)

  1. Auto-rotate screen, and portrait/landscape orientation toggles

Sure, I am adding it to the roadmap. My current test device is Q10 (=square screen), so landscape/portrait is obviously not important, but I think BB virtual device is capable to simulate this. BTW, BB provides extremely powerful simulator, so development without real devices is absolutely possible.

  1. The ability to define an alternate web browser for opening articles

Are you thinking about some browser in particular? In general, it's doable. The only problem I see is if you want to launch android app.

I am using the Zeus browser to view flash content. I believe that Zeus is based on the default BB browser, but with Adobe Flash re-enabled. Using the "copy link" feature in Kaktus and then opening Zeus manually works perfectly well. That said, it would be nice to be able to open Zeus automatically from Kaktus.

Keeping you updated.. New release (2.1) is now available on BB world. It supports landscape orientation.
