Even though we roll our eyes at it from time to time, the rapid acceleration of the JavaScript ecosystem in the last few years has brought with it a fantastic selection of tools and workflows, helped solve some challenging problems that were holding developers back, and driven forward the language itself.
CSS, though...well, it's been a little slower on the uptake. However, we're starting to see some exciting things arriving in the CSS world now which can be traced back to similar successes in JavaScript, so I'm going to call those out in this talk.
I'll also wonder aloud how and why JavaScript development seems to be branching off from the rest of front-end development.
