The documentation of CacheBuilder#ticker says

"The primary intent of this method is to facilitate testing of caches which 
have been configured with expireAfterWrite or expireAfterAccess."

Mentioning the two explicitly and omitting refreshAfterWrite seems to be 
confusing as a comment to

http://stackoverflow.com/a/25418475/581205

shows. Some general statement like "the only timing source" would be cleaner 
and more future-proof.
