What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I have downloaded 0.19-sms to test issue 18 whit the scandinavian
letters.
2. I have tryed to import my vsd file again and I have rememberd "replace
existing contacts".
3. Then I got alle contacts twise in my phone.
4. I went into "Settings", "Applications", "Manage
applications", "Contacts Storage", "Clear data".
5. Them my data gows from 1,2mb to 0.00b.
6. I try to import my vsd file again and now every contacts is there tree
times. Even the first ove whit the wrong letters are there. I have now
tryed this some times and every contact is there 7 times.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I did expected every contact only one time in my contacts, and not seven
times like now.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.19-sms

Please provide any additional information below.
If I delete every contact from the default contact app. the when I import
I get the contact only ones. If I then make a new import then the same
contact will be there two times.

How do I fiks this, I have my contacts in my phonebook seven times, and
its about 2000 entris now.

I am unable to reproduce this bug.
Does the vcf file you're using have X-IRMC-LUID fields for all the contacts?
This is
the only field used to match existing contacts. If it's not there, a new
contact will
be created every time you import.

* Try to export contacts, then import the file you exported. The exported
contacts
should have an X-IRMC-LUID field. Check if importing the exported file causes
the
contacts to be duplicated.

* If you can reproduce this bug, try finding a minimal vcf file that reproduces
it
(i.e., can you do it with a single contact?)

Please attach the file to this issue or send it to me by email, along with a
detailed
report of what you did to manifest the bug. It would be very helpful if you can
start
the process with an empty contacts and vcardio database (i.e, Clear data for
Contacts
Storage, and uninstall and then reinstall vCardio.)

Hi there

I have now used a lot of time to find out what is going on and what is
happening.
I have found out that this only happends if I activate synck my contacts whith
my
gmail account. If I turn it off then it works fine.

The error is not in VcardIO, but somewhere in the synck between my phone and my
gmail
account. I will play some more whit this when I get some more time.

Have a nice evening
Nenad

Please let me know what you find out. I use vCardIO _instead_ of syncing with
Google,
so I haven't tested the interactions with vCardIO when you do both.

If sync is the problem, it might be solved by implementing custom user groups
(issue 15)

Hi ducktayp,

i recently synced with Google, after exporting and importing via VCard IO. The
sync
caused me to lose all of my Android contacts. I have posted a message on the
Google
community page.

I wanted to alert you to is that when I import using VCard IO, all phone
numbers
appear to be tagged in Google group instead of Phone group, even when
originally
entered by hand or resulting from a call. Google may treat them differently as
a
result during synching, as the group tag indicates the contact is from Google
when
it isn't.

regards, vroomado
