Future stability / maintenance #138

Hi all,

We are still running on 3.x and plan to finally update to the latest version (5.1.0). Due to the rewrite in 4.x we will have to to some adaptions in our code base. Before doing that, we would like to find out about your thoughts on the stability of upcoming versions. Do you think Charon will be rather stable in the future, or are there any plans for further rewrites that would require a migration as with 4.x? Do you have any forecast on how long Charon will be maintained (especially regarding future Spring Boot releases)?

Of course, I am aware that your response will be just a current snapshot and priorities/goals might change. Nevertheless I would be thankful for any response.

Hi, I'm not planning to add any new features. That's because I don't have much time to take care of Charon. I see that people still use the library. Therefoe what I would like to do is fixing bugs and updating dependencies. Minding the above I'm pretty sure there will be no further rewrites.
