Hello,

Please could I draw your attention to this....

https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=340998

I'm not sure if it is a u-boot issue or not...

Many Thanks!

Seams to me, TP-Link is using a new SPI Flash chip and an updated u-boot on recent TD-W9980 boards. The GD25Q64C SPI flash chip used on your board is not supported by "my" u-boot.

My u-boot is based on the version provided in the GPL tarball dump at http://static.tp-link.com/resources/gpl/GPL_TD-W9980.tar.gz:

U-Boot 2010.06-LANTIQ-v-2.0.40-svn2583 (Oct 26 2012 - 12:15:55)

Where your U-Boot is:

U-Boot 2010.06-svn14907-LANTIQ-v-2.3.08 (Jan 22 2016 - 10:08:47)

Long story short: As long as TP-Link doesn't provide the source code for "U-Boot 2010.06-svn14907-LANTIQ-v-2.3.08" there is nothing I can do.

You need to request an updated GPL tarball from TP-Link (which includes the updated u-boot).

I understand now... I have just emailed them to request an update. Thanks very much!
