date is default view #6

Hi,

I have enabled time and date only.

Date is the default view on on my device and when i tap it shows the time for some seconds. It should be the opposite, time is default. When I tap it should show the date and jump back to date.

Agree?

Thanks, jd

Hi, same here, enabled date and time only. After power-up, time is displayed for 10 to 15 minutes then permanetly switches to date. Touch the sensor changes to time for a few seconds, then back to date forever. The opposite should be default.

Best Regards, bl

Hi, I think I partially fixed it in HW. Removed PCB4 and it never switched unintentionally. So sensitivity of touch sensor might be the problem. The datasheet of tontek sensor says, sensitivity can be adjutsted by adding capacity to pin3 of U2 to GND. I soldered a capacitor 22pF/0402/NP0 between U2/Pin3(TOUCH_PAD) and U2/pin2(GND). Now it does not switch between date and time again, stays in 'time' until you really touch the sensor PCB. Another thing is, that tontek mentions to keep the tracks to the ic as short as possibe. The net 'TOUCH_PAD' is routed from PCB4 to PCB3, where the touch IC is sitting but it is also spreaded to PCB2 and PCB1, where it is not needed. I dont know if this was the intention, but this could also be part of the cause. Best Regards, bl

Hi!

@blendi70 you're right, the IC is pretty sensitive, and it may pick up switching PSU transformer, which emits noise, which couples to the sensor antenna. To combat this, the trace connecting the header and PCB1,2 should be cut, as shown on https://mladendinic.com/nixietap/nt-kit.html#5
