include assert.h

Due to the extensive differences between different embedded compilers headers 
like assert.h are usually included in the platform-dependent code. The existing 
platforms include assert.h there to avoid incompatibilities with platforms 
which have no assert.h (such as the UMON, SURVEYOR, and FLYINGFOX targets).
