old tabs displayed; many "problem loading page" errors #119

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. clicking on a new tab (just downloaded jumpstart)
2. the thumbnails that are listed are weird tabs from weeks or months ago.
Jumpstart doesn't seem to be adding the tabs I'm using now.
3. most tabs I click on get a "problem loading page" error

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
1) I expect to see thumbnails for tabs I actually use a lot
2) I expect that clicking on thumbnails will take me to the website and not a
"problem loading page" error

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows 7. Firefox 5.0.1. Just downloaded the most current Jumpstart today.

Thanks!

Please provide any additional information below.

There are few thing here:
1) "problem loading page" - see what the url is, it could be intranet site no
longer available, or simply site is not there any more. Normally this would
indicate wrong URL

2) about the thumbs - they are chosen based on how many times they had been
accessed and how recently they were accessed. This might give some contra
intuitive results unfortunately and it's planned to be changed in the next
version. Also they are only refreshed when you start Firefox, so next time you
restart Firefox make a note if they had changed. This will also be changed in
the next version to refresh it more often.

Possible remedy for problematic thumbs is to click on X button on them and they
will stop showing (this is workaround hopefully until next version)
