I like to be able to group my tabs using the new functionality in firefox4,
however I also REALLY like to just do CTRL-T and click on my favourite window.
This means that I tend to mess upp the groups, having duplicate windows all
over the place.

I would like it if when I click on a thumbnail, I would be taken to the
existing tab for that site and refresh that (and close the jumpstart tab). I
guess this might not be desired for all, so maybe some config per thumbnail
(like the pin icon overlay but some suitable tab icon).

Sounds interesting.
You think something along the lines:
if you have the site opened in some other group bring up that group, focus on the tab where the site is opened, refresh it, and then close new tab jumpstart
if you don't have it opened - open it normally in the same tab where jumpstart was

Did I get this correct?
Any thoughts on same domain but different page?

That was exactly what I suggested.

For the same dommain but different page case, I would say opening the new tab
in the same group as the other parent in that domain could be a good behaviour.
But maybe this could be some option in the preferences dialog, since it might
work or it might feel strange... it is hard to predict before you test a thing
like this for real.
