1 year ago sorry i posted this back in Nov and never circled back to it.
this issue with my influx somehow fixed itself. i would love to be able to report the cause of the problem and/or the cause of the fix, but the problem essentially went away on its own. so possibly it was some kind of bad state that required >=2 restarts to fix itself or possibly there was some corrupt data that got into influxDB that had to age-out of the system before it would start working smoothly again.
i upgraded my Indigo system to Ventura and it mostly seemed to go smoothly, then I noticed messages in the logs from the grafana plugin that indicate repeated attempts for InfluxDB to restart itself, seemingly without success. The only info in the log message is "error starting the influxdb server...." Sorry this is thin on details right now, as I haven't yet had any time to dig into it.
