Position Issues on newer Thunderbird Versions #5

Hello,

since few Thunderbird Versions (current 78.6.1) on my application the QNote window is out of Thunderbird Window. I played already with the settings like aligend to message and no standard size & position.

I want it again on a position and configured size like last state as before?

PS. I like in meantime Qnote more then Xnote...

Seems I can not replicate. Please post a screenshot of your settings?

Here is a screenshot. The configuration is aligned to Message and the checkbox to use standard is disabled. You see also that the QNote is on the right monitor (2 monitor setup) outside the thunderbird window.

When I check to use standard positions, in this case (vertical/horizontal center) the field is correct in center of the message, but often I want to place it depending the mail text on a free area...

Also in screenshot you can see that QNote writes the notification also in top of the mail...

Where does it align when you create a new note?

In center of the message like standard. Also when I switch to another mail an go back to mail with QNote, the position is right in center.

BUT When i move the window, go to another mail and back to the QNote one, this window is outside thunderbird on right monitor... Also then the second note is in head of the message.

So when you move note window around it does not remember note position?

Additional note duplicate is attached to the message is because it is enabled in settings.

Yes right. The header notification I can set as checkbox. Have all disabled.

And also right. The position is not saved from the box.

Can't replicate not matter how hard I try. Do you said you got 2 monitor setup? Probably it has something to do with that... Unfortunately I can't bring 2 monitors to test it right now.

As a quick fix I can suggest checking "Always use default size and position" so note always appears on same position. Should be in the middle of screen.

But probably that too will get skewed due to screen width reported to Thunderbird would be both monitors width.

I made an intersting test... I resized the thunderbird window so it has no fullwidth/height in left screen. The when a position the window, go to another mail and back to this, the position was saved...

But when I toogle again to fullscreen, the qnote is again on the other display.

So it's issue with multi monitor setup. Will be able to test once will set up it myself.

Okay. This issue is only available, when Thunderbird is in FULLSCREEN mode on the LEFT panel. When the window is smaller it works. When the window is in FULLSCREEN on RIGHT panel it works also...
