Merge experimental branch to main trunk and release new gem version #22

Hey there,

i am quite happy with the current state of the experimental branch. Is there any specific reason why there is still no merge to the main trunk?

It would be great if you could consider a merge and an official release of a new version.

Just a lack of time on my part. I'll try to get it merged and released in the near future, but in the meantime the experimental branch is the place to be.
