It is possible that using "Size & Position" filter in conjunction with "Crop" filter on a clip will have a problem, and I see you are doing that. It would be good if you can locate each of those and remove Crop (do not save or make a backup copy of the .mlt), see if it helps, and report back. Also, try turning off Export > Parallel processing to see if that helps.
Today I tried to first crop the one video track to its later size. I only used the Crop filter and the first time it crashed. After deactivating the "parallel processing" option it finished sucessfully.
If i got time, i will try some more tests next week.
I tried to create a similar but much smaller composition based on the description and some of the XML, but I have not yet reproduced the problem. I tried to reproduce from your project by substituting my own media, but that is being difficult and time-consuming. I will test it again tonight while I sleep.
Hi ddennedy. The "parrallel processing" was the main issue here. The original project finished successfully with this option deactivated. it took around 50% longer.
Maybe it is a combination of issues due to my large video files (26GB in total) and the parrallel processing option when the crop filter is used.
If you need any more information, please tell me what i can provide to you.
best regards.
OK, just a note that my overnight export test succeeded with parallel processing. However, I had to use my own media, which I gave long files but perhaps not always long enough. I will add a FAQ topic that says if export fails try without parallel processing as this is not the first time it was used as a workaround.
Closing as old. Since this, there have been bug fixes, and now Export automatically retries with parallel processing disabled when it fails. Also, in the next version, parallel processing is disabled by default, but the latest is remembered between exports and app sessions.
Hi there,
I'm trying to get a second video stream as a "picture in picture". When i hide the video track containing the video stream i want to show up occasionally in the top left corner, everything works fine. If i activate it, qmelt crashed randomly during export (after 16 to 56 percent).
here is one error event:
All events have in common the swscale-4.dll. Since the crash appears not on a certian point in the export, i can't say which PIP section might be the issue. I tried to unify the used filter settings as much as possible.
unfortunately i do not know how to attach a file into my request (first entry here on github). So i can only insert the MLT file directly:
I'm trying to export the video with the following specs:
Video settings: 1280*720 | 25fps | progressive | Bottom Field First | YADIF | Hyper/Lanczos | Parallel processing acitaved Codec: libx264 | quality based VBR | 60% quality | GOP = 25 frames | B frames = 2 | Codec Threads = 0 Audio: 48kHz | aac codec | quality based VBR | Quality = 50% Other: movflags=+faststart | preset=fast
My PC Specs are:
Intel i7-4770 + 16GB RAM
The overall size of the used video files is roughly 27GB.
Te result is around 90 min long and i estimate a size of 2GB.
Thank you all for your time and your help
