Hi, thanks for telling me about this addon for Thirst was Taken!
I used the mod a bit and just thought I'd let you know of some minor issues I found:
Holding right-click to drink from a canteen while crosshair is placed on a block while trigger a mining/punching animation rather than drinking. This happens after 2 sips/drinking animations
Filling a canteen forces it out of hand to the furthest open hotbar slot on the left
To fill the canteen with water you have to place the crosshair quite close down. It's a much tighter downward angle compared to filling a glass bottle for example
Also some strange issues in creative mode where drinking past a certain level of remaining uses duplicates the canteen. I think this was just an issue with the dragon canteen
