Directory Interpolation #18

It would be nice if the %variable% syntax could be interpolated. If I insert an inline image like so: ![G]( c:/users/wstaples/appdata/Roaming/Microsoft/Signatures/Geiger_files/image001.png) it works but If I try: ![G]( %appdata%/Microsoft/Signatures/Geiger_files/image001.png) It does not work.

Also what is the starting point for a relative link?
