How about something like this?
Oh yes, that's exactly what I was looking for! Looks supreme. What about landscape/portrait covers that's less square? Can you find space for these also?
Cannot wait to see it.
Had to donate again. So happy with this :)
Something like this:
I'm still thinking about the game details screen, will do some more experiments.
It looks really good!
Hmm.. I was thinking, use it if you like or not:
When highlighting a game, maybe Y button could open the game details, with screenshot/video preview, game title and the 'launch' and 'favorite toggle' buttons available. The description could be cool to have, but better not to cram too much info onto the small screen, perhaps?
When pressing X button, maybe this could act as a Favorites on/off toggle, since I think the Filters menu are more used for alphabetical searching, but maybe this isn't necessary since you won't have a keyboard attached to a Gameboy/handheld build.
Just a few thoughts. Keep up this awesome work.
Ok, I think it's ready for some testing: https://github.com/mmatyas/pegasus-theme-grid-micro, give it a try!
Weee, thanks! Will try this and get back.
This theme is great, man! Well done. Images look great, everything seems to function, videos included.
A few comments:
A few personal opinions (disregard if you don't agree - this theme is SO cool!)
Yes, it's still not 100% complete :)
The theme doesn't seem to remember where it came from, after launching a game and exiting, the game selected is the "default" one, not the one that was just played.
That's still missing, but I'd like to add it.
Sega Megadrive logo is in color, the others are white
I suppose that also happens with the default theme? Will fix it.
There's no logos for the menupoints in "RetroPie" menu, only RetroPie-Setup has one.
The RetroPie comes from EmulationStation if I remember correctly, and uses the images defined there.
I'm not sure about the game info screen, it seems a bit underwhelming to go from great artwork to a screen that's only text, but it functions fine. I would rather have maybe video running on lefthandside and description a bit smaller on the right, and maybe the system-header up top, or something like that, a bit more graphics and less text.
Yeah, I'll see if I can make it nicer somehow. I didn't put videos in front as I was worried it might slow down the Pi too much or cause overheating, which might be more noticeable/dangerous with the Pi being in your hands and right next to the batteries.
I still would like to see the settings font larger, I cannot read the settings at all. But this is not needed much.
It's not controlled by the theme, but that's certainly something I'd like to improve eventually.

Very, very nice though.

Great!

Yeah it does actually, just checked my arcade build. Didn't notice it there until now, though :)

Check my attached photo, no images apart from 1 is showing?

Alright, I see your point. But a bit of graphics on this screen would be nice :)

OK, we'll see about this later. Have been using the theme for the last week and have not experienced any issues at all.
Pegasus is awesome (just made a Paypal contribution), but on smaller screens (320x240 like GPi RetroFlag and Kite Circuit Sword builds) settings and description text is unreadable and box art icons and system icons are very small.
The feature to toggle between normal and small screen, with the following modifications for the latter, would make this great frontend even more versatile:
Small screen mode could include:
