This frontend looks promising but we need a way to add roms, the meta xml file sucks so much.

You're intended to use external scrapers to generate your game lists. That way you also get videos, title screens, marquees, etc.

You always can use LaunchBox for managing your collections and use the LaunchBox integration option in Pegasus.

LaunchBox is Windows-only but it is a valid option if that's not a problem for you.
