Is the C1 decoupling capacitor necessary for a Nice!Nano build? #25

I'm building a wireless Hillside 52 using a kit from Beekeeb. The kit didn't come with a capacitor, and the Parts list says that capacitors are needed only for the Hillside 46 (presumably, this is for the C2 and C3 capacitors on that board though).

Is this capacitor necessary? Is it just a safety measure?

I found the answer here: https://github.com/mmccoyd/hillside/wiki/Wireless%20Nicenano%20Parts

The capacitors mitigate power surge when turning on the battery. They are already present on the nice!nano MCU, so are not needed with that wireless MCU
