Based on some feedback when we started hosting roombots on roombots.mx.com it would be nice to redirect all http requests to https. I want to make sure when we implement this we keep a few things in mind:
shouldn't require https in development mode
shouldn't require https if the production deploy doesn't have it setup (it is optional right now via environment variables to the docker container)
should not require wss:// connections
a lot of the programmatic websocket libraries have spotty support for secure websocket connections and I want to keep the barrier to entry really low for students.
Other than those caveats we should make sure that any request to http://myroombotsite/ will get redirected to https://myroombotsite/.
