Search field value is not cleared when closed/hidden #119

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Select search icon (mag glass).
2.Enter value and press enter.
3.Close search (mag glass again).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the Ajax values to the server to have an empty string for "query". 
Instead, the old value (hidden) is still there.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.1, Win 7
