Which device (Samsung, Galaxy S II epic 4g)?

Which firmware is installed? Gingerbread

What version of wireless tether are you using? 3 108

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Turning on Tether
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I cant see my android
tether in my laptop networks

Please provide any additional information below.

I used the previous version and it worked fine for a couple weeks . Then it
stopped working. So I downloaded the newest version 108 which didn't fix the
issue. And I get these messages on my Samsung.
1. Tether started with errors Please check show log - no logs are seen
2. Tether has been denied superusers permissions.
3. Unable to start tether, is your device rooted - Yes
4. Your phone is currently in an unknown state, try reboot- tried reboot, did
not help.
5. when i press stop tethering it just tries to stop for a very long time.

Any ideas? thx for any help.

Could you please:

1. uninstall
2. Clear any related permissions from the Superuser application.
3. reboot phone
4. reinstall the pre108 build
5. reboot phone
6. try tether again

pre108 is an attempt to get to get Infrastructure mode working the SGS2. Which
would allow other devices such as PS3, other Android devices, etc to connect to
the phone. If you just need tether to work again, please revert back to
3.1-beta7 or whichever previous build worked for you. The issue which pre108
attempts to address is here:

Thanks J,, I tried what you said and it still does not work. I even enabled usb
debugging to see if that would help and it didn't.

I did the usb debugging thing thinking maybe the issue is the superuser being
the problem ,,,but no luck.

I sure loved that tethering when it worked.

I did download the newest update on my phone. Wondering if that had something
to do with my tether not showing up in my network scans?

Does it work if you manually select the Galaxy S2 profile, then use the "netd"
setup method?

I'm not sure as to how to do that?

I did uninstall 108 version reboot and installed the previous 107 beta which
seemed to work for a while before this current issue.

I also installed another tether app that uses usb to connect. But really liked
this app better.

Another thing I noticed is when I turn off this tether app, it just seems to
try to turn it off for a really long time ( 5 min ) . I usually have to reboot
my phone to get it to turn off.

Again the only thing I can think is maybe that new update from (I presume)
Sprint is the only thing that changed in my phone when all of this started.

My superuser privelidges seem to work fine when I remove adware but doesn't
seem to work with this tether app.

So frustrating!
