Problems with Cyanogen 7.2 and stock roms #1463

Which device (manufacturer, type)?

HTC Evo 4G.

Which firmware is installed?

2.3.3, Cyanogen mod 7.2

What version of wireless tether are you using?

2_0_7, 3_1_11Beta

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Run Wifi tether app

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Only one wireless tether program should start - instead, both the native
Cyanogen tether and this app starts, causing issues - 3_1_11 Beta

2_0_7 causes a hang while the "please wait while starting" screen is showing.
Pressing back and re-trying allows it to start, but causes errors. When trying
to re-install the binaries, says the data/data/tether location could not be
found.

2_0_7:
Flashed back to the stock mod rooted and connected no problems, but after a
sort period of time the connection drops. It shows I have full bars on the
network center, but no web pages will load.

Please provide any additional information below.

Using the Intel wireless chip 5300, updated with the latest drivers. I had no
issues with this before flashing to Cyanogen 7.2, so that might've caused these
problems. Connection seems to cut off at around 2MB downloaded.

Edit: Changing lans in the settings allows me to reconnect, but I still only
get a limited connection before I have to re-do the process.
