Rooted Sprint GS4 Non-Operational #1794

Which device (manufacturer, type)?

Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4

Which firmware is installed?

Android 4.2.2

What version of wireless tether are you using?

I've tried a few different ones - TrevE Mods, most recent one in the Play Store

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Settings as follows -

2. Tether starts with no issues in the log
3. Network doesn't show up

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The network should show up in the wireless networks of any device, but doesn't

Please provide any additional information below.
This seems to be a consistent problem with the Sprint GS4

Having same problem.
Rooted Sprint Galaxy S4 (SPH-L720) running 4.2.2
Same settings according to article linked above.
Have tried switching:
Setup-Method (Netd <-> Netd-Ndc)
Wifi-driver reload <-> Wifi-driver reload 2

Logs indicate all is well, but the SSID is not available. No combination works.

Two additional issues related to this app on this phone:
1. i'm using CMR installed via Odin. Every time i exit this app, Android 
crashes to the boot screen & reboots.
2. After the crash, my Wifi AP entries have all lost their passwords. The items 
still exist, but i have to re-enter the WEP/WPA keys.

So far, this is the only app with root access that behaves this way.

Having same problem, no SSID broadbcast, even though no errors in log. Rooted, 
using CWM and SU. Using the profile ICS/JB (wlan0)

Any update on this?  None of the current downloads appear to be working with 
the GS4.

I got this app to work on a Custom ROM, but not on the stock ROM
