Is there a version that supports the Motorola Triumph #1861

Which device (manufacturer, type)?  Motorola Triumph (I know this is an old 
phone, but I like the $25 monthly Virgin plan)

Which firmware is installed? 2.2.2

What version of wireless tether are you using? Tried 3.3 beta 2

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.  Activate wifi tether. "Show log" looks good.  Using "Auto" device profile.
2.  Connect using ipad 2 wifi.
3.  Obtains 169.254.x.x IP address and DNS server is empty

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?  Expected valid IP 
address and wifi connection signal
